Mermaid spotted on the River Thames

07 November 2018

It's not everyday you see a mermaid whilst walking the River Thames walking path

A drowning cow was rescued from the River Thames by a passing "mermaid" on a 200-mile swim of the Thames. Lindsey Cole splashed into the river in a wetsuit, tail and hat at Lechlade, Gloucestershire, on Friday. She is raising awareness of the environmental effects of single-use plastic.

As she passed through Oxfordshire on Sunday, she spotted the stricken cow. Ms Cole said she carried on swimming while her mother and support canoeist called the emergency services. The animal is believed to have fallen into the river from a nearby field when drinking, two miles east of the Swinford toll bridge..

This is Jennifer who went from Upway to Bournemouth last month on a walking tour with her nephew. I just want to thank you for a fantastic vacation. Everything was perfect!

Our favorite places were Upway at the Manor House. Helen and her husband were so gracious and absolutely on top of everything. She made our lunches for hiking and did our laundry. She and her husband picked us up everywhere as scheduled. Our room was fine and the breakfast room was gorgeous.

Our other favorite place was the Ammonite Guest House in Corfe Castle. What an incredible place! Yvonne made us feel so welcome and breakfast at her table in her dining room was so special to us. We felt like part of a family - not the usual tourist experience.

The maps and other information and tickets you arranged were excellent and made for a trip where we could concentrate on the beautiful sites. They were beautiful, indeed - like a picture postcard!!

I really want to praise the Corfe Castle taxi service and their associates. They were wonderful. You made a good choice in picking them to get your guests around and about.

You may want to warn your guests there are some mean cows on the path to Swanage. Haha!

In short, thank you. You are welcome here in Utah anytime.
